And d. 10 Nov. 1879, having had issue by her, who d. at Marenham, Brazil, 22 Feb. 1887, issue at least, two sons: --
I. PAKENHAM THOMAS (eldest son) of whom presently.
II. Octavius Holmes Beatty (youngest son) b. 1866, matric. Exeter College, Oxford, 25 Jan. 1882, aged 16, B. A. 1884, M. A. 1888, L. L. B., T. C. D., B. L. Middle Temple 19 May 1886, m. at St. Mary Magdalene’s, Oxford, 8 July 1886, Margaret Mary, eldest dau. of Henry Banks Spencer, M. D. of 18 Beaumont Street, Oxford, and niece of Rev. Edward Banfather, B. A., Cantab(?), Rector of Fran (?) Bingham, Norfolk. They had issue, of whom the yst son: --
1. Desmond Henry Beatty, 2nd Lieut 4th Royal West Surrey Regt., died of wounds 21 Feb. 1915, at the hospital Boulogne.

The eldest son of Pakenham William Beatty and Octavia Augusta, was: --
PAKENHAM THOMAS BEATTY, of Mountpleasant, b. at Maranham, Brazil 23 June, 1856, educated at Harrow, Bonn and Paris m. _____ Mr. Beatty who is author of various poems (Who’s Who 1919) has one son and 2 daus. The son may be: --
PAKENHAM WILLIAM BEATTY, of Buenos Ayres, who m. ___ and had a son ___ Beatty b. 15 April 1915, at 16 Drayton Green Road, West Ealing.

Chapter II. BEATTY of LISMOY

The fifth son of John Beatty of Farranseer, d. Nov. 1681, was: --
ARCHIBALD BEATTY, of Drumcon, Killashandra, Co. Cavan, which place he inherited from his father, m. (Kilmore M. L. 14 Sept. 1705) Margaret Nelson of Killashandra, Co. Cavan, and had at least a son and a dau: --
I. CLAUDIUS, of whom presently.
I. Jane Beatty, m. firstly in 1729 John Gouldsbury of Aughnagore, Co. Longford, son of John Gouldsbury of Aughnagore, and by him, who d.v.p. Feb. of March 1739 -40, had: --
1. John Gouldsbury of Aughnagore Co. Longford in 1760
1. Anne Gouldsbury
2. Mary Gouldsbury, m. Arthur Barbone.
Mrs. Gouldsbury m. 2ndly in 1741 John Donaldson of Longford, a smith, and by doing so offended her father-in-law John Gouldsbury and his family.

The son:--
CLAUDIUS BEATTY of Drumcon and of Oughteragh [This must mean psh Oughteragh—PC], Co. Cavan, “Gent.” and “Clothier,” held Clooneby lease from Guy Lloyd and mortgaged it to John West of Drumdartan, Co. Leitrim 26 Aug. 1754 for his own life and the lives of
