William Beatty m. Anne dau. of Thomas Armstrong, of Banagher, King's co. "by Grissel? (who d. 1680), sister of Capt. Charles Beatty, of co. Longford". No documentary evidence of Grisels existence has been found, but if she died 1680, she would not be mentioned in her father's will of 1681.
          2. John Beatty, Quarter Master in Capt. Francis Hamiltons Troop of Horse at Killeshandra, 25 Dec. 1678. Probably John of Corr.
          3. The Peerage of Ireland, published 1790, sub Tit. Longford, states that Robert Beatty of Springtown, m Anne Pakenham, but there was no Robert of Springtown at so early a date. John obtained Springtown by lease from James Howison (Reg. of Deed, 87-299) his wife's name was Anne (Exch. Bill, Brock V. Beatty, 22 July 1742) and the name of Pakenham was given to their eldest son, therefore it must have been John Beatty who m Anne Pakenham.
          4. Registry of deeds, 69, 329, dated 20 June 1732. I have a note that she was dau. of Col. Henry Edgeworth, of Lissard, co. Longford, and grand-dau. of Sir John Edgeworth, and I think this is correct. Their was such an Elizabeth Edgeworth, Mrs. Beatty, held some of the Edgeworth property of the Lissard branch, Exch Bill 24 Feb. 1778, Parkenham Beatty, A. Beatty, G. Nixon, Eleanor his wife, etc. V, Peter Beatty and Peter Thompson
          5. Archibald Beatty of Drumcon, Yeoman, and Margaret Nelson, spinster, both of the parish of Killeshandra, 14 Sept. 1705, (Kilmore grant book)
          6. Exchequer Bill 29 May, 1760, John Gouldsbury V. John McVitty, Claudius Beatty, Robert Gouldsbury, James Donaldson, Jane his wife, Ann Gouldsbury, Arthur Barbour, and Margaret (sic) his wife, John Gouldsbury of Killan, co. Longford, gent. states that John McVitty of Cartrons, co. Longford, gent. let the lands of Aughnagore, co. Longford, to Plaintiff’s father John Gouldsbury, for the lives of said John Gouldsbury, Archibald Beatty (eldest son of Claudius Beatty of Drumcon, co. Cavan, Clothier) and Hercules Grainger (eldest son of Thomas Grainger of the city of Dublin, Esq.) on 21 May 1738. That John Gouldsbury d about Feb. 1739-40, leaving Plt. his only son and heir, a minor of very tender years. and two daus. Anne and Mary Gouldsbury, and Jane his widow. Letters of admor were granted to Claudius Beatty of Drumcon, co. Cavan, gent. (brother to Plt's mother ) and to Robert Gouldsbury (brother to Plt's father). That the said Claudius Beatty was brother-in-law to said John McVitty [N.B. Kilmore marr. lic 1724, Claudius Beatty & Margaret McVite]. That the said Jane Gouldsbury, Plt's mother, in 1741 intermarried with James Donaldson of Longford, Smith, whereby she disobliged and offended John Gouldsbury the elder (Plt's grandfather) who survived Plts said father, and offended his family. That Plt's uncle, Rev. Francis Gouldsbury, became guardian to the children, and Mary married Arthur Barbous, [note: As Claudius was of Drumcon, and had an eldest son Archibald. I take him to have been son of Archibald of Drumcon]
          7. George Beatty of Lismoy, in his will dat. 8 Dec. 1804, pr. dio. Ardggh 22 March 1806 mentions his niece, Elizabeth Beatty, dau. of Catherine Beatty, late of Outerahy, to whom he leaves £100, and her sister Margaret Davis als. Beatty, £20. Also Exchequer Bill, 11 Oct. 1819, Robert Beatty V. George.
