December 15, 1731. Lease “between Arthur Beaty (sic) of Lackan. Co. Longford, Gent. of the one part and John Dunbar Bate of the City of Dublin, Gent of the other part and the release made between the said Arthur Beaty of the first part Richard Edgeworth of Edgeworthstown in the county of Longford aforesaid, Esq. of the second part and the said John Dunbar Bate of the third part.” Arthur Beatty sold his moiety “or one half” of the lands of Lackan, Co. Longford to John Dunbar Bate for £242-11/4 “bequeathed to him by the last will and testament of John Beaty his father late of Faranseer in the County of Cavan, Gent. deceased, subject to a “proviso or condition of redemption contained in a deed of grant of the reversion of said premises made by John Edgeworth Kn’t deceased to the said John Beaty deceased in said release..” Witnesses: Nathaniel Smith of the City of Dublin, merchant and Edward Sterling Clk to Edward Dalton of the same Notary Publick.
