A Memorial of an Indented Deed of Lease dated the third day of June one thousand seven hundred and seventy made Between Edmond Beatty the Elder of the town and Country of Cavan, gentleman of the one part and Hannah Beatty of the Town and County of Cavan Spinster of the other part. Whereby the said Edmond Beatty in consideration of the rents and Covenants in said Deed contained to be paid and performed by the said Hannah Beatty her heirs and assigns did sett and to farm lett unto the said Hannah Beatty her heirs & assigns all that and those the Messuage House and Tenem't as then in the possession of s'd Beatty situate in the Town of Cavan afores'd Bounded on the North by Robt. Arskine's Tenement on the south of Pat'k Cahill's tenement on the east by Thomas Flemings Hill park and on the west to the High Street together with all the rights and appure'es thereunto belonging. To hold unto the said Hannah Beatty her heirs and assigns for and during the natural life or lives of Isaac Herdman of Heathstown in the county of Westmeath, weaver, Elinor Herdman dau'r to Isaac Herdman and s'd Hannah Beatty and for the life of the Sur'r of them paying thereout yearly during the said term unto the s'd Edm'd Beatty his heirs and assigns the clear yearly rent of seventeen pounds ster. In such manner & by such Gales (?) asin'd Indenture of lease is cont' and ?? in which s'd Deed there is contained among other things a clause or covenant of renewal forever upon payment of a fine of two pounds seven shillings and sixpence ster as a fine for renewal upon the fall of each life and in the s'd deed there are other Covenants Con'l and the same and this Memorial are witnesses by Edm'd Beatty the younger, Wm Beatty and John Henry all of Cavan in the said county of Cavan Gent.
