July 5, 1759; “Mary Betty of the Parish of Ballinderry in the Co. of Antrim for and in consideration of the natural love & affection which she had & bore unto Smart John Read of the Parish of Ballinderry & sd Co. & in consideration of one pound two shillings ninepence to her in hand paid did give grant & confirm unto Smart John read all her goods & chattels & that part of her land which she holds by lease under the Earl of Hertford then in the possession of the said Smart John Read he paying for ye same ye sum of one shill yearly & every year forever.” Witnesses: John Higginson of Crew, Co. Antrim, gentleman & John Higginson wife (sic) of George Higginson of Coleblackan, Co. Antrim, farmer; Margaret Neilson otherwise Evans since married to Thomas Evans of the Parish of Ballinderry in sd Co. farmer. Memorial also witnessed by Samuel Heron of Lisburn, Co. of Antrim. |
