February 20 & 21, 1756. “Made between Stephens Betty of Cabragh in the County of Tyrone Gent Ann Betty otherwise Johnston his wife Mary Betty of Killymittan in the County of Fermanagh widow otherwise Stephens mother of the s’d Stephens Betty of the one part & the Rev’d Joseph Story Arch Deacon of Kilmore of the other part witnessing that the said Stephens Betty Ann his wife & s’d Mary Betty for & in consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds Have & each them hath thereby granted bargained sold Aliened released and confirmed unto the s’d Joseph Story his heirs Exrs, Admrs & Assigns all that part or parcel of the Lands of Gortneuhanga formerly belonging to Oliver Stephens & then in the Tenure & occupation of William McKenny containing by estimation Twenty six acres…lying in the County of Cavan” Witnesses: George Lendrum of Cruise, Co.
