November 28, 1755. Memorial of Articles of Intermarriage. “Made between John Beatty of Barnagrow Parish of Drumgoon and County of Cavan on behalf of his son George Beatty of the one part and John Mawhood then Beatty of the other part. Reciting that said George intermarried with said Jane and before said marriage it was agreed was agreed that said John Mawhood should give to said George as Dowry the sum of thirty pounds ster to be paid to said George his heirs or assigns at or upon the first day of March then next exclusive of what his wife and father in law John Brown intended giving said George above said sum and that said John Mawhood was to furnish his said son-in-law the said George and his daughter the said Jane and their children with diet Lodging & washing for one year and the said John Beatty did covenant to demise set and to farm let unto said George Beatty his heirs or assigns that part or parcel of ground held by Mathew Clark James McCabe and Redmond MaCorry containing thirty five acres or thereabouts as also the parcel of land known by the name of Killaclear in as ample manner as occupied by George Sharp for and during the natural life or lives of said John Beatty the said George Beatty and Margaret Beaty otherwise Young or during the space of fifteen years at the yearly rent of ten pounds ster—payable half yearly which said articles is witnessed by John McWhidd of Killurkan in said County farmer and by Mile Reilly of the City of Dublin Distiller and this Memorial Is witnessed by the said John McWhidd and by William Magin of Dublin, Gent.
