A Memorial of a Settlement by way of Deeds of Lease and release indented bearing date respectively the twenty second and twenty third days of June seventeen hundred & thirty seven the lease made between Robert Beatty of Springtown in the County of Longford Gent of the one part and Henry Hatch of the City of Dublin Esq. and Charles Beatty of the same city Gent of the other part and the release being tripartite & made between the said Robert Beatty of Springtown of the first part Anne Metge of Haven in the County of Meath spinster of the second part and the said Henry Hatch and Charles Beatty of the third part. The said release reciting a marriage intended to be had between the said Robert and Anne and that the said Anne was possessed of the sum of three hundred pounds ster and thereby the said Robert in consideration of the said marriage and of the said sum of three hundred pounds which he would be intitled to on the said marriage and for providing a support and maintenance for the said Anne in case the said marriage should take effect did give grant bargain sell alien Demise release & confirm unto the said Henry Hatch & Charles Beatty all that and those the town and lands commonly called Tubberfelin being reputed part of Ballynacrosses to hold from thence forth to the said Henry Hatch and Charles Beatty their heirs & assigns during the natural lives of Pakenham Beatty Gent the said Robert Beatty and John Beatty being the lives mentioned in a lease therein recited and also all that and those the farm or six cartrons of land commonly called and known by the name of Springtown situate in the Barony of Granard and County of Longford with the appurtenances to hold from thenceforth during the remainder of a term of twenty four years granted by lease therein recited. In trust for the sd Robert until the sd marriage took effect and after solemnization thereof the rents and profits thereof to the said Robert and his assigns during life and after his decease that said Henry Hatch and Charles Beatty should pay thereout to said Anne for her life thirty pounds to Ann quarterly from Roberts decease and the said Robert did also covenant that in case said terms or either of them should expire in the life times of said Anne or the profits of said premises be insufficient to pay said annuity that the remainder of his Estates and Effects should be liable to make good the said annuity for the life of said Anne—and also in case of no issue that said Anne should have half of the Estates and effects that said Robert should die possessed of during her natural life over and above said annuity which deeds and this memorial are witnessed by Wm. Thompson of Clonfin in the county of Longford Gent and Chris Dalton of Dublin Notary Publick. Robt. Beatty (Seal). Registered June 25, 1737.
