April 13, 1743. Pakenham Beatty of Coleraine, Co. Londonderry, gent. on the one part and Francis Ellis of the town of Monaghan, merchant on the 2nd part. “Reciting that Pakenham Beatty by deed of lease & release dated respectively the ninth & tenth days of Nov. one thousand seven hundred & thirty eight did demise grant & convey unto Robt. Beatty of Springtown his heirs and assigns forever all that & those the Town & lands of Coolarty otherwise Coolagharty, Largan & Muckersagh all situate lying & being in the manner of Moate & Barony of Granard & County of Longford….” For a yearly rent of £55. Pakenham Beatty now transfers this yearly rent to Francis Ellis for the sum of £500, subject to a proviso of redemption. Witnesses: Alexander Montgomery of Dromrolagh, Co. Monaghan, Esq. & Brab.
