June 15, 1737. Deed of Reconveyance by way of lease & release. Between Pakenham Beatty of Springtown, Co. Longford, Gent & Charles Beatty of the City of Dublin, gent. Arthur Mervin of Baldwinstown, Co. Dublin, Esq., Hartly Hutchinson, City of Dublin, Esq., Frances Mervin of Baldwinstown, widow & relict of Hugh Mervin deceased granted the lands of Aghakine, Barony of Granard, Co. Longford, to Charles Beatty in a deed dated December 8, 1733. Charles Beatty mortgaged the property to Henry Stephens & Darby Clarke in a deed dated June 17, 1734. In a deed dated September 14, 1735 Henry Stephens and Darby Clarke released the land to Pakenham Beatty with an equity of redemption still available to Charles Beatty. Charles Beatty “being desirous to have the said premises reconveyed back to him the said Pakenham Beatty agreed thereto” and this deed is a memorial of that transaction. The lands of Aghakine were conveyed by Pakenham Beatty to Charles Beatty for £500. Witnesses: Henry O’Hara of the city of Dublin, apothecary and Hugh Mathews (since deceased) then servant to said Henry O’Hara. The memorial is also witnessed by Mathew McLorian apprentice to Henry O’Hara.
