May 1, 1737. Memorial of Indented Deed. “Between Cairnes Wrightson of the town and county of Monaghan Gent. and Robert Law of the City of Dublin Gent. Adm. of the Goods & Chattles of Aldbrough Wrightson late of Town of Monaghan aforesaid Gent. of the one part and Jno Beatty of the town and county of Monaghan aforesaid of the other part. Reciting that whereas Wm. Cairnes late of the town & County of Monaghan aforesaid did by his indenture of lease dated the seventh day of March one thousand seven hundred and six demise and set unto the aforesaid Albrough Wrightson dec’d the several homesteads or tenements therein after mentioned (to wit). All that tenement in the possession of Edmund Kelly & Jno Brimmer & formerly in the possession of Joan Conole widow containing by estimate one hundred yards in length and fifty yards in breadth the tenement lately in the possession of Jno Nicholson & the tenement then in the possession of Katherine Dogherty widow. Each of of the sd two last tenements conataing fifty yards in length & twenty five yards in breadth or thereabouts being part of the lands of Strabuy (?) within the Borough of Monaghan..” Lease was for the natural life of Aldbrough Wrightson and 41 years to his heirs. “Reciting that said Aldbrough is since dead & that Adm of all & sing’r the goods & chattels is granted to said Cairnes Wrightson his eldest son & Robert Law..” They transferred the above mentioned lands to Jon Beatty for £375. “On which sd deed there is an endorsement whereby John Neatty did assignall his interest in the premises granted by sd indenture unto sd Cairnes Wrightson & thereby declared sd sum of £370 the consideration money in sd Deed ment’d to be the proper money of the sd Cairnes Wrightson & that sd Deed of conveyance made to him in trust for the use of Cairns Wrightson.” Witnesses: Richard Graham of Culmain, Co.
