  Petition & Commissions for stating the ales of the Army 1689-1698.CH 3B-5-37
Petition of Rose Armstrong, oldest dau. of George Armstrong, deceased, on behalf of herself & 4 poor orphans. That Pet'rs father George Armstrong rode in Capt. Aughmuty's troop in Regt. of Hon. Col. Wm. Wolsely since lst raising of said Regt. as appears by certificate annexed. That about two months since Pet'rs. sd. Father died leaving charge with Petr's,  4 small fatherless & motherless children to maintain who have suffered much since the death of their said father. Pray that in consideration of his services payment of his arrear of pay may be made. [Petition not dated]. Dublin Castle? 26 April 1692. Petition referred to the Com'rs. for payment.

  Certificate dated  May, 1692, signed John Auchmuty that George Armstrong rec'ed. £3 – 10/- for his subsistence  from Jan to 25 Feb. last the day on which he died.
Certificate dated 7 Feb. 1691. Signed John  Auchnuty that George Armstrong  rode as a private gentleman in my troop in Hon. Col. Wolseley Regt. of Horse & was well pleased with him from 24 Feb.  1689 to 25 Feb. 1691 at which day he died.
  Petition of Corporal Richard Nickols who served as corporal in Hon. Col. Wm. Wolseley own troop since the first raising of said Regt. & is now is discharged as by annexed certificate. Prays for payment for arrear of pay due him [not dated] Dublin Castle? 29 Nov. 1693.  Deferred to Comm. for payment.
Certificate dated  1 Dec 1693 & signed by Richard Edwards, Agent for sd. Regt that he paid to Corporal Nicholas from 18 Dec. 1691 being the day the 6 youngest troops of said Regt. were broke to 1 Dec. 1693. The sum of £72-3/6 at 1/6 a day.

Certificate dated 1 Dec. 1693 signed Wm. Wolseley that Mr. Richard Nickols served as a corporal in my troop since it was first raised at Enniskellen & I do hereby discharged him at his own request.

  William Wolseley's Regt of Horse Capt. Mathew Webster's troop. Account of pay due to the several under named Corporals, trumpetiers & privates in of said troop lately broke pursuant to order [not dated . following is full list of names:-] John Armstrong, PhilipHegin, trumpeters; Richard Young, Mathew Young, John Anderson.
